Chapter 32
The Main Civilization Part 3
Revelations of Mars
Pitch black silence. Pitch black world with no end in sight. Everything is right. Everything is good. Everything is…
Dead.
Yes. Everything. The way it should be. This race. This world. This existence. Everything, is dying. Everything, is dying.
No wait. Something, isn’t right. This blackness. Everything about it? A long winding nothingness leading to… Something?
Red eyes opened in a pitch black world, and a black short haired muscular Italian man slowly formed in this place.
This is… Like then.
He walked down the long winding road with no edges and no presence. A pitch black tunnel leading to something he could not see slowly growing closer, closer, closer. Until it erupted into a gradual gradient of colors pulling forth from black to gray and finally into white.
CSP921’s eyes opened up like a man waking up from a startling dream, only he was not sweating and he was very aware of the many apparatuses on his body including a long winding tube around his face propped up to his nose feeding him air and the small circular device strapped to his arm that emitted an odd skin tight bubble across his body. A bed monitoring his vitals. His eyes wandered down and he found his body would not move for him, years of being in a coma reduced his muscle to paperthin masses, but in front of his eyes was a man hovering in the air, just looking.
…
:!.eXe: What’s a coma patient doing here?`!:
:!Kyra: It might be a trap, he’s beginning to wake up after we got out of that tunnel. I’m seeing motion sensor equipment that’s meant to spur on an injection system, I think we just activated it.!:
:!.eXe: So then he’s probably hostile, maybe a CSP?`!: I noticed his eyes opened, and that they were abnormally… Red. Only they weren’t just red, they seemed to glow red.
:!Kyra: That’s definitely a CSP if those eyes say anything, take him out before he wakes up completely!`!:
“That seem’s unfair… But…” I prompted up a small index of my shields regeneration rates, they were so badly damaged my Aegis shields aren’t even past 10% capacity still, all of my other shields were half way recharged though, “I guess I have no choice.” I held out my left index finger and aimed the laser projector to match up with his head.
“A quick good bye, I’m sorry.” I took a moment to hold this statement true then a beam erupted from my finger no longer than five inches and flung down into the man.
I lowered my head as if to say sorry and turned around when an eruption shook me in midair, the shockwave pushing me away partially. I turned around to a massive black mist permeating in the area.
:!Kyra: That doesn’t look good.!:
“No, it doesn’t.” I agreed and spurred up all of my shields. Several pink hued bubbles lined over me and a gentle golden tinge accompanied them when my Aegis charged up.
“Better…” A man’s disgruntled shout flung over the air. I looked down but couldn’t see anything through the thick black mist.
:!Kyra: Scanni-- Don’t let that mist touch you Jon.!:
“Why?” I asked when my HUD shades flickered between heat vision and normal vision. The values were all in the negatives, the extreme negatives. Like this mist was a massive wall of absolute zero particles, but it’s moving so that can’t be possible.
:!Kyra: I’m looking up files for all CSP’s kept in a medically induced coma… And I just found our guy. CSP921, Al’io, he’s an Aeon! That’s called a Black Miasma and it eats up anything it touches!`!:
The mist suddenly began to churn and recede moving faster and faster until it surrounded only the man who was now standing glaring up at me with those… Eyes. They were so powerful, the emotions in them, what they portrayed was like looking into a millennium of wars and all of the negative emotions of anger and grief they brought. The only way to describe this feeling is…
Malice.
A large black cloak began to form over him covering his body from ankles to neck, “To think I’d be asleep for so long, that flying robotic men would exist. And this… Atmosphere… When did Earth end?” He asked curiously and looked around.
“We’re on Mars, and who are you?” I called down staying defensive and expecting some kind of assault.
“Mars?” He tilted his head and grinned, “The red planet… Then Earth is still alive…?” He looked up to me with a very sadist smile. I found myself nodding without meaning too.
:!Kyra: He’s provoking inherent thought processes I can’t read, stay on your toes, Jon.!:
:!.eXe: So he’s one of those types that plays mental warfare too…!:
“Why do you care? What’s your purpose for being here?” I held up my left hand now cautiously.
“Hmm… Purpose. I don’t now. Why AM I here? I must have been put into a coma by that damned…” A flurry of energy erupted from his body spurring on the black mist that now seemed to emanate all over his body, “I guess I’ll start off with you. Why do I exist? I asked myself that same thing. You know what I got out of it? All of you, sentient beings… Living things… You don’t deserve what you have. Squandering all that lives, greedy lusty fucking pigs!” He growled.
“Hey calm down! Maybe we can help each other, I’m not sure what the CSP did to you but—” I was cut off by the sight of him flickering in front of me, his fist made contact with my shields and broke all but my God Particle barrier which stopped his incredibly overpowering punch from contacting my body.
:!Kyra: Aegis is at 2% Jon! What kind of punch can do that?!`!:
I throttled my thrusters as black mist began to fling itself towards me from his body. As he fell a large burst of black energy erupted out of his shoulder blades propelling him forward into the ground where he rebounded and flickered away.
“He’s fast too!” I said looking around for any sort of blur.
“Why do you talk to yourself?” His deep voice crept up behind me as I turned around to his fist smashing down into my shield breaking through it. I held out my left hand to try and catch his black mist covered arm.
:!Kyra: Don’t touch him!`!:
I felt it was too late to react when my arm pulled away against my will and my thrusters fluttered with an increased output blasting me away from the man as he flung by me.
:!Kyra: Damn it, heat damage, overheating, need to set down! Eemrgency shut off, I can’t override!`!:
“Are you kidding meaaaa—” I shouted as my thrusters shut off propelling me to the ground. I stabilized myself and landed into the ground with a hard crash crumbling the ground underneath my feet as my hands smashed into the ground further imprinting themselves into the ground. I immediately looked up and extended my unidirectional Aegis as that man flickered to a stop right in front of it.
“Interesting, an invisible shield… Is this technology or are you different too?” He slid his finger along the shield as his miasma seemed to stop at it.
:!Kyra: Your shield can halt that black miasma… I’m putting forth power into your God Particle shields to recharge them but… Your overall power supply will be impacted.!:
:!.eXe: Just do it!`!: I stared at this man sliding his finger along my shield too scared to know how to react. He was so fast and so strong, and with that black energy… The ground all around him was decaying and deteriorating as if it were being disintegrated. If that touches me… If that engulfs me…
“The CSP… That’s the name of the organization that kept me for so long?” He looked up with a dark grueling smile as his eyes pierced into mine, “I guess I should thank you, what else do you know?” His fingers all gripped my shield, and with a single forceful squeeze shattered it into wisping golden rays of energy leaving an opening between me and him. I stumbled back and realized I was already surrounded from all angles by his black miasma.
:!.eXe: Kyra…!:
:!Kyra: Redirecting now, almost past 30%, don’t power it up yet.!:
“The CSP?” I asked and took a moment, “They’re… They contain supernatural projects…”
“Contain Supernatural Projects… C, S, P. Funny. Supernatural… Against my will…” His smile faded into a grimace as his eyes lowered, “What else do you know?”
:!.eXe: Kyra!`!:
:!Kyra: 77%!:
A sudden prompt on my HUD warned me that my entire energy supply was less than 70%
“Well?” He took a step forward and I almost stepped back if not for knowing that mist was behind me.
“They… They… Uh… Ah…” I froze realizing I didn’t actually know anything else about them, “I don’t know much about them but I can tell you all about the Mars Coalition and the United Powers of Earth.”
A loud scoff of disappointment emanated and this man took one step closer putting less than a meter between me and him.
“Such trivial things, organizations. I’ve spent so long refining these powers, and now I don’t need to rest, they’ll never have a chance to take me, and I’m going to make this planet, and Earth,” He brought his face closer, “Dis-appear.” He said with a terrifying grin that crept up along his cheeks, his eyes glowed a deep blood red.
:!.eXe: Kyra!:
:!Kyra: 98%!:
I focused for a moment to turn on my shields when a sudden error prompt erupted on my HUD.
SHIELD_PROMPT_ERROR:: ERROR#76:: Incompatible Conditions to Prompt
:!Kyra: I said not to try unti— “DAMN IT!” Kyra’s prompt erupted and didn’t finish as her voice came across my ears when Al’io realized I tried to do something and threw his fist at me which slammed into my chest breaking in my left PNP hatch and propelled me off my feet. I closed my eyes expecting to disappear and die when my back made contact with the ground and I slid across the martian soil for a few seconds before coming to a slow down. I opened my eyes amazed at how I wasn’t dead.
“…How did you…?” His eyes were wide with surprise.
:!.eXe: What just happened?`!:
Kyra didn’t respond in anyway, I didn’t even feel her presence like I normally did.
“This is interesting! You’re just like me!” He shouted and flickered over me bringing down his fist which I grabbed with my left hand being able to stop his punch only barely. Where there should have been black miasma his skin was now exposed to the hostile elements of this atmosphere.
“INTERESTING!” He cried and brought up his other fist when my leg moved without my will and locked onto his chest where my plasmic thrusters all throttled into him pushing me back and throwing him away with a roaring screech of agony. I slid back and off into the hole of the crater I came from when my legs moved down and threw me back up to the edge of the crater where my HUD made another prompt.
PLASMIC_THRUSTERS:: OVERHEATING:: EMERGENCY_SHUTOFF
My feet made contact with the ground as I blinked confused at what my body was doing, all of this without me intentionally doing it.
“Yooooouuu...” Al’io growled now surrounded by his miasma again, he sounded like he was smiling, chuckling almost, the burnt in holes in his body were now gone as was any damage to his cloak, “I… Will definitely… KILL YOU!” His voice erupted into shockwaves across the terrain, but my body stayed put, I felt I was no longer in control.
“Bring it on then.” I said without meaning to.
:!.eXe: Kyra? Are you controlling me?`!:
I got no response.
I had hardly blinked when the man flickered in front of me, his left arm was held back as his right arm flung forward with a fist that visibly distorted the space around it with the force packed in that punch. I merely side stepped the entire attack as my left arm threw forth a powerful punch that sent him off his feet over the crater to the other side. It was all done so fluently like a well rehearsed action part of some kind of show I’ve performed hundreds of times before, all so perfectly efficient.
“God damn it! How are you doing that?!!” He cried with a loud scream and got to his feet. My hand slid up and ushered for him to make another move.
:!.eXe: Okay, I get it you have control of my body, talk to me at least! What do I do?`!:
:!Monitor your systems.!:
A single prompt without a name came up as my vision was replaced with a vast array of monitors and a single display of what my eyes could see.
“Is this… What you see, Kyra?” I questioned to no one and looked at awe in the massive amounts of systems that needed to be constantly adjusted. My arms flew up without me really needing to think as I had an inate understanding of everything I needed to do to keep my body operating smoothly. Nutrient caches, stabilizer joint strengths, processes and services to work with. It was like running my arms over a massive HUD to smoothly operate a very complex machine, it felt very relaxing in a way like I was useful and making things better. I looked as I side stepped another lunge and noticed everything was in slow motion. His arm flew by so fast it should have been blurred but it was crystal clear to me, right down to the sight of energy slowly pulling out of his pores to the space around his arm bending to the speed and power behind it, almost like his punch alone was almost breaking the sound barrier. This was what Kyra saw, how many little mistakes did she witness? How frustrating must it be? So many times I could have moved my body to avoid such an attack and yet…
…
“I see it.” Ky’rie had her arms held out, her palms facing away from the ground up to the sky as she knelt before a statue of Jesus being cricified in the church. Elei’son sat quietly next to her respecting her ritual and going along with it. She whispered quietly so only he could hear them despite the silence of the large church.
“See what?” Elei’son asked and closed his eyes when Ky’rie prompted him with the images flashing in her head.
“I can’t explain it. But its beautiful.” Tears wisped over her cheeks as images of a very angry person slowly being pushed down came to Elei’son’s mind. He opened his eyes and sighed.
“You can still feel her.” Elei’son lowered his head as if in prayer.
“On the seventh day, our Lord, God, rested.” Ky’rie spoke loudly for all to hear as she cupped her palms together and lowered her head, “And on this day can we all agree, to understand that if such a magnificence as God had to rest, we too must rest. For man was made in God’s image. Amen.”
“Amen.” The entire church resonated as Elei’son slowly stood up next to Ky’rie whose eyes opened up slowly revealing a deep hazel splendor.
“They’ll know soon enough. We should return.” She whispered in what seemed to be sorrow as Elei’son nodded and followed her lead.
…
“What do you mean CSP01 has asked I not be allowed to see her today?!” Justin screamed at the overseer’s who wouldn’t let him pass.
“Ah we weren’t really told why… She started her period though so…” The man waved his head left and right hazily as if he weren’t even there. Justin grabbed his collar and shoved him into the wall.
“Director Zero granted me access, even CSP01 has no say against that, THAT is protocol.” Justin’s voice was low and rumbling as the man’s mouth was left open hanging idly.
“I’m sorry, I can’t let you.” He said when his eyes widened realizing what he was saying.
“You’ve been comrpromised.” Justin threw him onto the ground and held up his board, “In association with Security Breach Protocol’s security personnel procede to CSP01 Overseer tower to overtake operations, Security Breach Protocol’s being enabled.”
“W-wait! I’ll be terminated!” He crawled over to Justin who threw his foot into the man’s jaw throwing him onto his side.
“I’m sick of waiting, OPEN, THIS, DOOR.” Justin commanded as the man shook his head absently, now under a much stronger sensation and immediately unlocked the door. Justin walked in and shut the door behind him as black suited personnel rushed in and tackled the man to the ground. He looked up as the sounds of struggling came from the intercom.
`Did you really have to do that?` Muilil’s voice came to Justin’s mind as he opened her door to a sight unlike anything he had imagined.
“What the hell…” He muttered at the image of a very frail and elderly woman sitting in front of Muilil’s desk slowly reading over a Braille book with her hands. She turned around to reveal her eyes had all but decayed away and her hair was all but almost fallen out, “Who are you?” Justin asked preparing to call security.
“It’s me…” Her raspy voice said with a frail tone as her head looked up, “I’m on my period…” She continued after a deep gasp and lowered her head. Her voice compared to her telepathic voice was… Like life and death.
“Funny…” Muilil coughed a little as she tried to chuckle then returned to sliding her frail bony fingers across the book, “So many questions… I was hoping…” She coughed interrupting herself, “To avoid you… In this… State.” Her shoulders slumped as her entire body relaxed, her hand falling limp against the book.
“Your powers are… Almost gone…” Justin smiled for a moment and stepped in without asking permission and pranced over next to the frail woman.
“Please…” She tried to beg for him to not exploit this moment but it was already too late.
“You’re going to be asked some questions. And you’re going to answer all of them, honestly.” Justin’s sinister smile crept along his face as he slid the book away from Muilil’s grasp and turned her chair to face him. She was unable to resist any of this, too weak to even lift a book.
“Were you the Serpent?” Justin began to which Muilil’s head tilted over unable to support its self. Her closed eyes were puffy as her cheeks puffed with what could be dust.
“Answer ME!” Justin roared desperately feeling himself go insane from the answers now so close to being known plaguing him, but silence permeated.
“I can’t.” She responded.
“Why?” Justin smiled realizing he was probably right about her being the serpent.
“He does not…” Muilil coughed again, “Allow it…”
“WHO?!” Justin’s hands flew onto her shoulders shaking her a little when the world turned black. Justin stepped back confused looking around, he realized he was naked and could very much feel everything happening around him, a warmth uncomfortably mixed with an icy cold that stung. His senses were deafened but overstimulated, almost overpowered to death.
“Me.” Justin’s gaze was moved for him to a massive entity contained within several layers of Aeonixic cubes. Its fiery gaze was so prevalent just being looked at seemed to burn, but its grasp was very weak, and it was only through the combined powers of Muilil and this being that Justin was here.
“You’re…” He was silenced before he could speak.
“I…? I am many things, mortal.” A low rumbling invoked terror deep inside Justin in ways he never imagined possible, “You tread in grooves not meant for your kind.”
Justin realized this was an interrogation and mustered up his strength through the pain and terror he was feeling.
“Pitiful excuses, all of them.” The being said as Justin grasped to many things to empower himself.
“What are you? Are you C—” His voice cut off.
“Silence yourself.” The being waved what looked to be an appendage that silenced Justin with just its mere movement, “Monuments. Many exist.”
The sudden voice of Kylie erupted.
“I am a monumental monolith to the extrapolations of all humanity and existence, a corporeal entity of ephemeral realities and eternal existences!”
Its deep deathly voice followed, “I am a monument to all monuments. Built upon the introspective continuity of all that is—”
“SIN!” Justin screamed feeling enraged that this being would grab such an important memory of Kylie, “STOP FUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaahhhhhhhhhaaaaahahhhhh hh hh h hh h h h nn n—
Justin felt himself falling away from everything as his body lost all strength.
“Let me show you all that you wish to know, and in its ways you shall be silenced of this insatiable appetite, and with it an insatiable compliance shall emanate with you, unknowing to your own self. The weakness, the feeble existence of a human not even of half Aeon existence. You will be silenced, by TRUTH.”
Justin’s eyes widened as the sights of a pitch black existence came forth.
Before all that came there was two things. Intangible, and Corporeal. Immaterial, and Material. Of them only one existed in actuality and from it all things were said to have always of been. Including I of whom was made by those we call - - -
“God…” Justin muttered.
Suddenly the world was met with a great fierce roar unlike anything imaginable, and matter came and anti matter came and violence and heat scorched and burnt over Justin who screamed unable to comprehend the feeling of dying without dying. In the center of this explosion were two things. Everything and Nothing. A supermassive blackhole on par with nothing conceivable existed here now as everything was pushed away from it beyond the speed of light. Within the black hole was a great light that even outgrew this hole, an anomaly that in its self should have been impossible.
“That is…” Justin spoke without meaning too and found his answer.
God
Across the realms of the Immaterial one came forth into the material, and in the process brought forth everything with it.
Justin watched hazily as questions erupted in his insatiable quest for answers.
Fast forward several billion years, we see Earth. The seeds of life are sewn are they not? All that should exist came on its own? Evolution? A large crack tore over the entire planet as the massive light engulfed it and surrounded it.
“And then God said let there be light, and there was liIIIIAAAAGGHH—” The voice erupted into a piercing scream severing the image that Justin was viewing.
The sudden images of Angel and Kylie erupted in Justin’s mind. Voices all came forth propelling Justin away from this image.
“I’ve seen something else. In the beginning, there was no beginning, in the end, there was no end. I know what really happened, what really happens. The Genesis, the Revelations. It’s all a lie.”
“You do not understand. From Genesis. God said let there be light, and then there was. It is not true.”
“In the end six Figure Heads will stride forth and clash, and everything will be opened to the end, which will be in sight then. Of the six Figure Heads, two will face four, of the two, one will clash with another, and the second will clash with three, and they shall bring about an end to all.” Kylie’s voice came forth now with Angel’s voice seemingly acting as the body of this voice, as if Angel pulled forth this voice from Kylie.
Angel’s voice erupted and Justin found himself flung away from Muilil into the couch labeled visitor, steam was coming from his now numb skin as he knew he must have been breathing heavily. He looked down and realized he was charred and burnt and his clothes were covered in ash and other material he didn’t recognize at first. He looked up to the image of Angel standing over Muilil.
DO
NOT
TELL
TRUTH
SILENCE, WHORE
Angel’s commands erupted into both Justin and Muilil and the being was gone as fast as it came leaving all that many more questions for Justin who pulled forward and realized the couch he was on had begun to melt sticking to his coat which wasn’t staying too well in shape still steaming.
“W-wait!” Justin coughed when personnel burst in the door and ran over to Justin who fell to his knees and began coughing blood.
“He’s coughing blood, he needs medical attention.” One of the men who kneeled to him called to the others as Justin pushed the man away and crawled to Muilil.
“WHAT, ARE YOOOU, MUILIL?” He cried grasping the frail woman and holding his arms over her hugging her closely unable to stand on his own.
“I… Am…” She began and a low groaning chuckle came from her throat as her head fell forward bringing her mouth next to his ear where she whispered very quietly for only Justin to hear, “The Whore.” Justin pulled back when personnel pulled him off of her and dragged him out of the room. He was too weak to fight back and was taken straight to the infirmary where Director Zero was waiting for him.
…
“Just in time, we’re watching the ensuing fight now.” Ze’ro welcomed Ky’rie and Elei’son who now slid into their chairs.
The Directors watched in awe as CSP921was overpowered some how.
“Can you all see it?” Setidorh asked.
Akron’uhs spoke up, “Yes, to nullify that power is something only an Aeon should be capable of doing, with the appropriate connections.” He said and lowered his head.
“Then surely that answers the question.” Vn’sent now leaned forward showing his interest, “Connections within the CSP perhaps?
“Yes, it appears…” Shadow began but stopped.
“You all… Still don’t see it…” Ky’rie mumbled causing everyone to look at her, “The power… Of Kylie.” She smiled and pointed to the screen.
…
This is it! The lunging and aggravating, he’d blown half the terrain away in anger in this area, a crater bigger than the hole I came from now surrounded the same hole several kilometers wide.
The man was roaring incoherent words as they all jumbled together as he slammed on the ground and pushed off with a huge burst of energy when my right hand pulled forth and caught the man by his throat, all the black miasma around him dissipating.
“So much anger…” My voice said without my doing so, “Let me bring you Truth, Al’io.”
Silence fell as we both begun to fall slamming into the ground. The man was wide eyed as if he was seeing something he couldn’t understand.
“Do you see now?” My voice said and was met with silence, “Then return, blissfully aware, of The Truth.” My right hand transformed into the Plasma Cannon releasing the man’s neck and a massive wave of plasma rushed over his entire head and upper chest leaving behind only a beheaded corpse as it collapsed on top of me.
MANUAL_CONTROL:: RESUMED
I blinked as my arm fell to my side next to me, the plasma cannon still steaming.
:!Kyra: Sorry… I need to rest for a bIt, you should go back to the others… You need repAirs for your Mechanical and internal systems.!:
:!.eXe: Hey wait, what the hell was that just now?!`!:
Silence.
:!.eXe: Kyra!`!:
:!.eXe: Kyra! Answer me!`!:
:!.eXe: Damn it Kylie talk!`!:
“TALK TO ME!” I screamed shoving the dead CSP921’s corpse off of me. I felt myself frowning in frustration at everything that just happened, “Why? What did you do?” I asked now sitting here observing the body of the man.
:!Kyra: I’m sorry, you would hAAve lost if I didn’t pull power from your systEm. You need to leave sOon, authorities might show up from all the commotioNs.!:
:!.eXe: Don’t give me that, I saw everything, you did something!`!:
:!Kyra: It was inherent. You can’t see such thingS when yOu’Re in my position… Even so you wouldn’t undeRstand so just drop it, and stop calling me KYlie.!:
:!.eXe: You don’t tell me your name, or anything about yourself or who you are, then do all of this and expect me to just not think about it?`!:
:!Kyra: Jon…!:
“Damn it, Kylie. I need answers.” I retorted and got to my feet and stumbled up the crater waiting for my Plasmic thrusters to cool down.
…
“How long have you known?” Ze’ro asked Ky’lie as she smiled absently at the millions year old Aeon.
“She wanted you all to find out on your own.” Elei’son spoke up in her defense prompting the entire board to shuffle uncomfortably.
“I didn’t tell you because you wouldn’t understand. Beings of pleasure cannot understand the actions of that woman.” Ky’lie said and leaned back getting comfortable.
“Is she an Aeon?” Shadow spoke up.
“That’s unimportant.” Or’ryon suddenly stood up redirecting all attention to him, “What she is… Isn’t easily defined as merely something or another.” Or’ryon mumbled and took a moment to think.
“I haven’t broken my ties to that place.” Ky’rie bowed her head and stood up, “I have been able to witness several things from her perspective, but only when she is distracted. CSP03 has also been unable to monitor the events of Jonathon Essex, seemingly by the will of Kyra. We don’t know what she is, we don’t want to call her an Aeon because she is not. She’s an ASAI. Aeon’s cannot become ASAI’s, their neural pathways are not compatible. Even Jonathon Essex, a Human-Aeon hybrid needed HUD Shades to bypass the issue of his eyes optic nerves not matching with a normal human’s.” Ky’rie explained.
“Er…” Or’ryon groaned and closed his eyes giving a deep breathe, “It’s worth noting that Justin was the one who pinpointed Jon as a Human-Aeon hybrid, however he isn’t aware of it which is vastly unusual,” he looked across the board, of all whom were once Human-Aeon’s now nodding in agreement, “When one dies and comes back of their own will they start off as Human-Aeon’s and have a keen understanding of everything that has happened to them, in time they evolve their bodies and become full fledged Aeons… So how come this man who is biologically proven to be a Human-Aeon hybrid is unaware of this?” Or’ryon looked across the table as everyone seemed to think.
“Perhaps…” Setidorh now spoke up, “Amnesia. Jon has much trauma, is it hard to assume the incident that prompted him to return also caused head damage?”
“Hardly.” Akron’uhn revoked this idea, “Even so the memories gained from such an event are not stored in the brain, even with any form of amnesia he would be aware of such things.”
Ha’paulo now threw his hands down on the table and rose, “Is it not worth stating that what we have may be a vastly done series of coincidences? An unaware Human-Aeon being given an ASAI capable of metaphysical events whom we can’t even figure out is an Aeon or not?”
“I agree with Ha’paulo.” Ze’ro said and looked straight across the table to Or’ryon, “You know something, don’t you…” Or’ryon shuffled momentarily.
“Justin Hardin originally chose Jonathon Essex as the subject not for that reason… But because he saw a man with the correct mental capabilities to handle his new existence…” Or’ryon paused then continued, “All subjects assumed for such a… Project would be under immense psychological stress, if they couldn’t cope with this it’d be required by a remote operator to control them, something that is vastly expensive and Justin strived for candidates who wouldn’t require such measures due to the lack of a robotic frontal lobe at the time. Jonathon Essex was a perfect candidate.”
“Continue…” Ze’ro prompted when Or’ryon stopped.
“Well. He discovered during bodily scans of Jon odd neural connections and at the time wasn’t aware such a human existed. He did some research and discovered the existence of Human-Aeon hybrids, mostly thanks to an accomplice who we now know to be the Secretary of the UPE Military’s General and President, her name’s Ann, that’s all we know about her. It turns out Justin was more concerned about this project than about that so he made necessary changes.”
“And that ASAI?” Ze’ro asked.
“I do not know… He has… Very potently hid all memories concerning the woman he used and the processes of which he made her into an ASAI. I… He has a lot of experience with mental games thanks to his time at the CSP… The fact he could hold up against Angel should be proof of this enough, none of us can adequately obtain information pertaining to this woman without his expressly doing so. CSP01 has even stated when questioned by Director Zero that she could not acquire a fix on the woman, and that Justin Hardin’s ability to hypnotize subjects extends up to beings even as powerful as her… We don’t know, and I’m sure we’ll never know…” Or’ryon sighed and waited for another to speak.
“I suppose you’d know something about ASAI’s then?” Soph’ya spoke up with a sinister tone.
“Eh…” Or’ryon grunted realizing he was played by the Director, “ASAI’s are made by a very gruesome process of disassembling the mind of a human being, physically, by the brain, and recreating the signals from each part into a digital database. It’s highly intrusive and… Most subjects die. Over two hundred lives were lost as Justin created the 27 ASAI’s in existence. By my forceful pushing of course.”
“Hmm.” Ze’ro closed his eyes and stood up, “If we could all sit down and relax.” He asked raising out his hands and lowering them palms down and all the standing directors did so.
“Or’ryon, Ky’rie, Elei’son…” Vn’sent spoke, “Why didn’t you share these things?” His eyes looked up from the table and pierced all of them.
“I already explained myself, you needed to see it to believe it. Elei’son has been my closest friend for a long time and was acting on my behalf.” Ky’rie immediately silenced all doubts of Elei’son and the focus was put on Or’ryon.
“I… Was embarrassed.” Or’ryon lowered his head.
“Oh course,” Alys spoke up, “You are the most shallow of all the Director’s. I can believe that.” She smiled sticking up for Or’ryon who cast her a glancing leer.
“Even so…” Vn’sent began.
“It’s unimportant, “Alys turned to the red clad man, “Or’ryon is the weakest of us all in all aspects including mental obedience. He probably forgot key details pertaining to some experiment he had Justin conduct and didn’t want us to become privy to it. He also experienced the millions of years Justin did afterall, there’s a reason us Aeon’s don’t live on that plane of existence for prolonged periods of time.” Alys was a very resolute and objective thinking person who swayed the opinions of everyone in a single moment.
“Perhap…” Vn’sent looked over at Or’ryon and then leaned back.
“Then what shall we proceed with today? We have no forwarded files from the Tier 2 Directors.” Ze’ro questioned as all the room grew quiet.
“Are we going to look into Justin’s research on CSP’s 00, 01, and 02?” Cly’Thon spoke up now.
“Yes in due time.” Ze’ro admitted and took a moment, “It is worth noting he had an infirmary visit today while we were in this meeting,” Ze’ro looked down and took a moment to think recalling the recent events, “Apparently there was a security breach with CSP01 who tried to have the overseers keep him from researching her. Apparently she’s on her period, and during this time her powers… Decline.”
Alys poked her head up curiously.
“So if you wish to question her, now is the time.” Ze’ro smiled.
“I’ll be dismissing myself.” Alys stood up.
“Wait.” Ze’ro held up his hand stopping Alys, “Let us all just be aware, that CSP01 like the others being researched by Justin are under Director Zero’s protections. No researching, everything is off the record.” Ze’ro reminded the group.
“Obviously…” Alys pouted and slipped out of the room.
“Any other things worth mentioning from any of you? Any new interesting projects contained?” Ze’ro questioned with a snarky smile prompting the Directors to sigh and begin conversing about recent discoveries. An act they all did so with little enjoyment, apparently hating the business involved with their positions yet cherishing in the power they had in such positions.
…
The gentle sound of light atmosphere rushing by, like little wind, a gentle breeze despite going faster than most cars and the sight of a huge mountain approaching. Olympus Mons, several times bigger than Mount Everest. Takes up the entire horizon several dozen miles away, even now as it grows bigger in the distance I still have a ways to go.
:!Kyra: So…!:
“We’re fighting.” I retorted without a second thought.
:!Kyra: How’s that even work? Does that mean we’re not talking or something?`!:
I blinked and rolled my eyes as I monitored the heat on my plasmic thrusters.
:!Kyra: If you keep at this pace you can make it back without needing to set down.!:
I shut my eyes for a moment, its weird being mad at someone who can read everything you’re doing.
“I know, right?” Kyra’s voice rose prompting me to open my eyes.
“I’m mad at you… Even if you saved my life how can I trust you when you can’t even tell me something as important as, I don’t know, you can do more than just regulate systems and control my body?”
:!Kyra: It’s not that simple… I mean… Okay yes, I can extend out to the physical world, to a certain degree. But what I did was more of a link… I used your own brain to initiate that link, it was theoretical and I didn’t know what else to do. It drew a lot of energy from me, and you…!:
I knew just by this odd off feeling that this wasn’t the whole truth to the situation.
“So what? You have telekinesis and telepathy?”
:!Kyra: No… Not exactly…!:
Same odd feeling, Kyra isn’t one to lie it seems and it shows just when she’s trying to.
:!Kyra: I’m sorry! I’m not sure how to tell you this but it…!:
I looked over for a moment and lowered down to the ground where I landed.
“I need a moment.” I slid my hand over my chest. Both plates for the PNP Hatches were mangled and dented, the skin next to it was also torn and damaged though I didn’t feel it.
:!Kyra: I just, I don’t want to talk about myself before I… Became… This.!:
“This? …Oh…” I realized she meant she was referring to herself before she became George and Kyra.
:!Kyra: I’m sorry, Jon… I really am… I just don’t know how to talk about that stuff…!:
“It’s okay I guess.” I rubbed the back of my head slightly flustered realizing she was being honest about this, “You know a lot about me but… You can’t seem to see anything after a certain point.”
:!Kyra: Around age seven your thoughts become inherent with small chunks not being so.!:
“Around age seven. Hmm…” I thought for a moment and slowly walked along the ground towards Olympus Mons, “It was the first time I ever had a near death experience, by the very definition of it at least. I was a bit of a devious kid so I made trouble now and then. In the days of the UPE I lived as a child that wasn’t always smart. An officer caught me stealing a magazine from a vendor and chased me down when I ran. I guess he must have shot me because all I remember is hearing a loud bang and falling to the ground.”
:!Kyra: I can’t see any of that…!:
“Yeah, then I woke up. I was on some metal bed in some dank gloomy place. I left and went home. My parents almost had a heart attack when I walked through the door. They were really worried about me because I never went back home for what they said was a long time… My Dad seemed to have caught on to what happened because he was acting funny. He finally pulled me aside one day and told me I need to be more aware of things from now on.”
:!Kyra: I kind of can see that…!:
“Yeah so… My Dad started talking to me more after that and Ann became more friendly. My mom didn’t seem to change but… I never did find a bullet wound on me. I wonder if he used a rubber bullet on my back and it hit a nerve or something and knocked me out.”
:!Kyra: All those odd memories of examining your back make sense now.!:
“Yeah… So. I shared something about me you didn’t know. Gain my trust, take a leap of faith.”
:!Kyra: I… Okay.!:
A moment of silence occurred at what felt to be hesitation.
:!Kyra: My name is Kylie. You obviously know that… I was… I didn’t really belong anywhere. I met Justin Hardin and he saw something about me and offered to change my life. And so he began changing me…!:
“What’s it like being turned into an ASAI?”
:!Kyra: Horrible. Painful. Intrusive. I felt like my own brain was being picked apart and played with. I was conscious while he basically connected electrodes all across my body and every crevice of my brain matter. He shocked every last one causing me to lose control of my body, causing me to violently seize uncontrollably. I was held down so this wasn’t a severe problem since the top of my head was cut open…!:
I remained silent unsure of what to say.
:!Kyra: And then my vision disappeared and my body died, and I could vaguely make out my surroundings in very blocky mannerisms like my vision was now gone replaced with a bland understanding of such a concept. I became acutely aware of my placement and of where I was and then he began… Coding me…!:
“Coding you?”
:!Kyra: I was now a computer program with a conscious, all that was left was to add the fat to me. It was the easiest part of the entire experience but I was very, VERY aware that in this state he could not only rewrite my very consciousness, but possibly even change the very person I was. Yet he didn’t and he relied on who I was to carry out my job, which he coded into me as well.!:
“What job is that?”
:!Kyra: Primary Method Parameters consist of a very simple set of regulations. To serve Jonathon Essex. To help Jonathon Essex. To keep Jonathon Essex alive. To regulate the systems of .eXe also known as Jonathon Essex. I was programmed to be your ASAI. All other parameters were vague and allowed for interpretation by myself to expand on my… Capabilities. That was before he added an entire table of protocols both you and me were forced to adhere to, only I retained my free will and could only not act against them, you, didn’t quite have that much freedom, at first. Then that hacker, mr.r came in and placed that .kEy file which activated and erased all those things… For the first time I felt like I could adequately do my job I was tasked with.!:
“You’ve done it good so far.” I admitted recalled the many times Kyra has probably kept me alive in times where I would have died. When I’m hacked, when my reflexes aren’t fast enough, she jumps in and despite the work load does her job well.
:!Kyra: So… I was just a useless person. Justin Hardin introduced me to a lot of things, and then he locked up all of those memories while programming me so I couldn’t tell you anything.!:
I nodded and slid my foot along the ground.
“I think it’s time we get going. Thank you. For sharing something about yourself, Kyra.”
Silence, a small smile crept up on my face and I throttled my thrusters and erupted off the ground towards where Walter and the others should now be.
…
Alys stood in front of the door to CSP01’s room for a long while.
“Muilil, it’s me. Alys. I’m coming in.” She said finally and opened the door slowly, pushing it so it crept open to the sight of a frail shriveled woman sliding her hand weakly across a braille book.
“Director… Seven.” Muilil mumbled and let her hand rest.
“I know you’re not a big fan of me, but I heard you were on your period so…” Alys walked in and plopped onto the visitor’s couch.
“You know I can’t stop you.” She smiled and let her head fall over to her shoulder where it turned slowly in the direction of Alys.
“This is an unprecedented thing you know. How long will this last for before you’re back in shape?” Alys asked then immediately added, “This is all off the record so… I’m just… Asking.”
“It’ll be… Done by tomor… Ow.” Muilil’s shoulders slouched down.
“Then maybe you can help me until then. I’m curious about something.” Alys said.
“Ky…lie…” Muilil’s face weakly turned into a small almost unnoticeable smile.
“Yes. We’re all wondering just what she is.”
“She’s… Not… Important.”
“What does that mean? She’s important in some way, why is Justin so guarded about her?”
“Ask him… Yourself.”
Alys’ eye twitched in a moment of anger as she rose infuriated by the audacity of the weak and feeble woman now before her.
“Alys.” A sudden voice prompted her to bite her tongue as her gaze moved over to Director Zero standing in the doorway, “I’m so glad you asked that question, I’m very curious too, CSP01.” He smiled and walked over next to the couch but did not sit.
“Hmm…” Muilil seemed to sigh, “I don’t know…”
“What’d you find out that he said was a lie?” Alys prompted Muilil to be honest.
“Just that… She was… His lover.”
Silence permeated when a new presence broke the silence with his footsteps.
“Ah, Directors Zero and Seven.” Ze’ro smiled and looked to Muilil, “May I enter?” He was very polite about his question to which Muilil nodded.
“It’s not common for such a mix of Director’s to be in one spot.” Alys chuckled and looked to Director Zero who held a very professional smile.
“Why… Am I so… Popular?” Muilil tried to chuckle but coughed instead.
“Is this the effects of the Black Peach?” Director Zero asked prompting curiosity from the other Directors.
“I’m afraid so… For women… Their periods… Reveal their true selves. Men, simply… Deteriorate, based on… Their minds.” Muilil was very tired it seemed and her head slowly moved to face her bed, “The downside of… This pitiful… State. I haven’t slept… In my bed… Since this started.”
“Let’s change that then.” Ze’ro walked over to Muilil’s chair and placed his hands on her shoulders letting her know he was behind her.
“So nice…” Her body bobbed gently at a silent chuckle.
“Despite your situation Director One is correct on this, you are a valuable asset to this organization. If not for your Containment Protocol, and for the current behavior of Justin Hardin, you would be better treated.” Director Zero said in defense of Ze’ro.
“Yes, well. About the Doctor.” Ze’ro spoke as he gently pulled Muilil up from her chair locking the underside of her knees over his right arm while he held her back with his left arm and placed her onto her silken bed sheets where she cuddled up slowly into a fetal position.
“He’s been reprimanded and his abilities to research CSP01 have been temporarily suspended.” Director Zero answered the question Ze’ro was thinking.
“How long?” Ze’ro asked.
“Indefinitely to see if his mental status clears up. He’s undergoing a psychological exam right now to see just how affected he’s become by these… Events.”
Alys shrugged at Ze’ro then spoke up, “Is he still allowed to research CSP’s 00, 02, and 00a?”
“For now yes, he has shown an increased interest in CSP02 after these events. He’s already scheduled several back to back meetings to research the entity. Is his project, Exy dead for certain?” Director Zero answered then asked his own question.
“No, we got a visual and confirmation of the death of CSP921 and he has fled the area. We can’t track him, his ASAI has hacked all the satellites in the area and CSP03 once again is unable to trace his whereabouts.” Ze’ro sighed at the troublesome issue.
“Incredible. The man survived heavy bullet shots, PNP’s, plasmic attacks, an encounter with a Succubus, an indestructible being, a serial killer statue, a girl who single handedly killed every personnel on a single floor of her facility, and now he’s even surviving God Particle attacks straight on. If I weren’t a man of logic I’d say he were protected by God.” Director Zero smiled innocently at this jab at the Aeon Directors and then lowered his head in a bow, “But of course he is only… A cyborg, in time, as is with all things. Good day Directors.” Director Zero bowed with a smile and made his leave.
“Good bye Sir.” Alys said but Ze’ro remained silent giving a soundless smile.
